Description
Single Horse 5 is a Mini Porcelain Painting by Bin Feng, individually painted by hand. Each work is individually hand-painted and is not individually numbered. Rooted in the visual language of Haipai Gongbi, the work brings the precise linework of traditional Chinese gongbi painting into a contemporary composition on porcelain. A rearing horse, rendered in delicate red-orange lines, conveys a sense of vitality, strength, freedom, and forward movement, expressing an auspicious wish for progress, aspiration, and success.
The porcelain panel is presented within a custom North American walnut frame, secured with beechwood mortise-and-tenon joinery—a traditional woodworking method in which precisely fitted wooden components interlock to form the structure. A magnetic wooden mount on the back of the porcelain panel allows it to be removed from the frame. When the painting is removed, the frame may also function independently as a display container for other small objects.
Each porcelain panel is individually hand-painted, so subtle variations in brushwork are inherent to every piece. The artist’s seal is applied freely by hand and may appear in a different position on each work; the placement shown in the photographs is for reference only. Natural variations in the walnut grain are also part of the individual character of each piece.
Display: Horizontal or vertical tabletop display is recommended. For wall display, the frame may be supported by two securely installed wall hooks or nails.
